As part of a series inspired by the Nobel prize-winning novel by Gabriel Garcia Márquez, One Hundred Years of Solitude 10.0 – Cultural Revolution is a spellbinding examination of social history, following multiple generations of cultural evolution and uprisings.
Led by Zuni Icosahedron's celebrated Artistic Director Danny Yung, this production features an international cast in an exciting new cultural twist. Collaborating in this performance are 12 of Singapore's rising theatrical practitioners together with artists from Hong Kong, a Kun Opera master from Suzhou, and youth from the Hong Kong School of Creativity and School of the Arts, Singapore.
This work of cutting-edge theatre—performed completely without dialogue—features an arresting mix of image and sound, as well as video art by Hong Kong avant-garde video artist Benny Woo.
Cultural Revolution is the 10th installation of Zuni Icosahedron's ever-evolving One Hundred Years of Solitude series. Spanning nearly 30 years since 1982, the series is the company's most representative work and has introduced groundbreaking elements into the fields of arts and theatre with its unique artistic vision, style and structure, and unconventional theatrical expression.
Gain an inspiring perspective of dynamic relationships operating at the micro and macro levels of society—between individuals, societies and their leaders; organisations, the government and the country; and people, cultures and revolutions.
