Experience the soothing ethereal vocals of Summer Lei in a performance that combines multimedia visual projection and live band accompaniment—all linked with a story.
Summer is well-known as a “music poet”, with songs that are sincere and sensitive lyrical diaries of her life experiences.
In high school, she was inspired by the Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto to create songs that were a blend of traditional instruments and electronic sounds. Later on in her career, she was further influenced by her collaboration with the jazz musician Uri Caine, which opened the way to other collaborations with musicians from Taiwan and overseas.
Summer has received several Golden Melody Awards, the most recent being the Best Album Producer Award in 2011. She also received the award for Best Original Film Song for the movie Taipei Exchanges at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards 2010.
Catch her performing original music from the movie Taipei Exchanges as well as some of her other compositions with BIT Sound.
